Paint Party Friday.....Helping Hand

It's done.... I've reached the point where I'm not happy with anything I do to it and I've probably over worked it. So it's time to move on to something else. I do like it a lot and it has been a learning process so it has done it's job :) 

Now to get the studio cleaned up and organized again...one more time.

...ok... so now that I've slept on it I realize I have to work on it more...but will give it some time before doing that... it definitely looks unfinished now but I've reached a block on this one :( Too much going on in my life right now I guess.

While trying to decide what I want to do next with my WIP mixed  media from previous post I played around with this concept.

 The torn opening would go around the hand holding the tattered butterfly.... still have not decided for sure but I like this page in my journal :)

Work in Progress ....Still :(

It's coming along... not as fast as I would like...but I keep finding myself outside working in the yard. Taking advantage of the cooler days we've had ...FINALLY... and trying to get the landscaping projects I started in the spring finished.

The hand holding the butterfly is my grandsons... when my daughter sent this one I knew it had to go in this piece...it was just meant to be. Hopefully I'll have it done by next Friday...still don't know where it's really going :)

Work in Progress

Working on a mixed media collage right now... not sure where this is going but I"m liking it so far. My first attempt using  CitraSolv and magazine pages. So far I"m like it just fine :) 

"Fighting the Blues"

Summer is ending and I have more time for other creative projects now :) 

This is a mixed media work I did last weekend.

Was worried about my sister and her husband and their long battle ahead with his cancer....feeling a little blue.... looking for something bright and cheerful.  Never have seen these color combinations in Nature but a little bit of alcohol in the system gives you a more daring sense of adventure in color :) 

I used watercolors, inks and colored pencils on watercolor paper. It's 11" X 14" and looks great matted.

This is the first time I'll be joining

A Work in Progress and Bloomin' Tuesday

The big clamshell in it's new home waiting for it's mate to join it asap.

A look at the pond in it's state if disarray...the weeding is all done on the left side and the far end with part of the mulch laid. Have to gather some more stones and weed the  and mulch the rest of it. Then we'll install the fountain and put the fish back in. 

Another peak at the clamshell with a 20 oz. water bottle setting in front of it to give you and idea of it's size :)

Wild flowers blooming in the shade garden!

Strawberries forming in the garden and there are tons of them....YUMMMMMMMMM :)

MayApples blooming in the woods always make me smile.

One More Bee and Flower...

Ok, OK! I know it's time to put away this reference photo and go on to some other subject. But I just love drawing this bee and flower. Maybe it's because winter has been so long and miserable this year and the bee and flower remind me of warm summer days and sunshine. 

This one is a 9 in X 12in. colored pencil and ink drawing on watercolor paper. The paper size is actually 11x15 so it can be matted  and framed also.

I'm sure that I'll be doing at least a couple more versions of this little guy be I file the photo away. So be patient with me while I play with him. He's a learning experience for me and he still has lessons I need to learn. 

Spring is in the Air!
