Paint Party Friday

Ok......So I finished the art early this week and here I am late posting it. I sure wish I had a way to organize my brain!
Now to the once again late ART :0)

These are little tags I have made out of recycled laminate samples.
When they changed out the laminate samples at work last year I brought a semi-small rubbermade tub of them home. Saving them from the dumpster. I had no idea what I was going to do with them but I knew I would come up with something.
Here is what the other side of these look like

They will make adorable key chains or gift tags, book markers, even a necklace if you got creative.
I'm playing with printing my art info and email  and gluing it to the backside.
Nothing firm yet but they are fun to make :0)
they are only about 1 and a half inches by 2 inches.

Paint Party Friday and Butterfly Effect

It's Friday again and here I come ... sliding in at the last minute with my post for the week :0/
The theme at Butterfly Effect this week is
Frida!!!!
So here is my rushed piece....some week I am going to start early...I really am :0)

It's another 5x7 inch blank note card done with acrylics on watercolor paper.
Since Frida is the theme this week I thought I'd share a photo of my youngest grandson and a fabric doll I made his mom when she was about his age...
They have turned onto  Frida..

I love this  photo of him!!!!!

Paint Party Friday and the Butterfly Effect

Another week has passed and I haven't blogged at all since last Friday :0(
It's been busy.....I mean really busy in a good way.
The Granddaughters came and stayed last week end. A Fun 3 days! So much fun I forgot to take pictures.
The rest of the week was divided up between my outside job that puts food on the table...and my crocheted hat challenge. I have committed to make 25 hats for charity and my personal goal is to get 50 done. I now have 16 hats crocheted :0)
Enough about me and back to the art :0)
The challenge at Butterfly effect this week was non-dominant hand art.
Can we say SCARY!
I started out with faces drawn on phone book maps.

Then I attached them to watercolor paper with Liquitex matte gel....

The last one I glue face down so it was looking the other direction.
Then I started painting it using Water soluble Oil pastels.

I'm really not good with my left hand at all....but I was having fun.  I decided I wanted a brighter and bolder background so I used soft pastels and clear gesso.
So there he is all bold and bright and slightly cross eyed :0)
