T Stands for Tuesday

Hello my Tuesday FRIENDS and Thank You Elizabeth & Bleubeard
for hosting us every week ♥
Not much art this week ...
just cutting out magazine photos for my
Wild Things Journal.
Here's a sampling of what I cut out and I my drink for the day .
Coffee in my favorite winter mug.
I had to force myself to wait until at least after Thanksgiving to start using it :)
In answer to your question last week Elizabeth, yes I like it very creamy ♥
I normally go to my parents the weekend after Thanksgiving and that's when the family has the big meal. This year I wasn't able to get it off. This is the first Thanksgiving ever I have missed with my parents and it didn't make me happy at all :'(
On Thanksgiving Day I was able to go to my son's for dinner  and had a fantastic time. So much fun we totally forgot to take pictures.
So when I wasn't working this weekend I did some crocheting.

Two Owl Ear Warmer Headbands ♥
I love this pattern and see a few more being made this month for gifts. I can make one an evening while listening to the TV.
I also lost an old friend over the Holiday and it has left me very sad and determined not to miss another Holiday with my family. You just never know how much time you have left.

T Stands for Tuesday

It's Tuesday again :)
Time to share whatever is going on with our friends over at " ALTERED BOOK LOVER"  and with Elizabeth & Bleubeard .
Just so I don't forget...because I often do...
Here's my photo of my drink this morning.
My morning coffee beside the Journal that I just finished the cover on. Here's a better shot of the cover.
I'm not so sure I'm happy with it as is ...will give it a few days to see.
I really need to get my behind in gear and work on these Christmas projects that I'm way behind on thanks to being ill for so long. But first I had to spend several hours cleaning up the art desk and the shared studio. Now I can breathe in here and maybe get these things done :)
So I was able to get several pages cut for the Recipe Album I'm trying to make.
This is a major challenge so it will probably not be done for this Christmas. If only I hadn't lost those 6 weeks to illness.
We've had a couple of hard freezes this past week so nothing is left in the gardens. But the mini yellow rose I bring inside for the winter has decided to bloom again :)

I can't find my Christmas Cactus anywhere so it must have gotten tossed accidentally during the remodel :(
Well I have much to do around here so I had better get to it.

Paint Party Friday

Thank Goodness it's Friday!
So it's Party time again ♥
One of those weeks here where a lot of things got started or worked on and nothing at all got finished.
A couple of weeks ago I finished the last page in my first art journal. The first one I ever started... back in 2011. I've started several others since then and filled them up. But this one remained unfinished. This was the last spread I did in it.
I posted it a couple of weeks ago.
So this week I decided to do something with the cover.  this is what I have so far...
...here's a close up of the first bubble...
...I'm not sure where I'm going for sure with the rest of it.
This journal is my most precious journal.. not only because it was my first but because it was started at a very dark time in my life and by it's end things are good again but there's a lot of emotion in the pages between. I've grown so much during that process. Even in the beginning I knew I would...even when things were so bad.
This was page one...
...and this was page two...
There are darker , gut wrenching pages of grief and then there are slowly pages of calm and peace. Eventually growth ,happiness and LOVE again. Then there are pages of art just for the fun of art .
It's the sum of my being for the past Four Plus years.
There are pages that aren't finished ...

Who knows if I will ever do anything with them or just let them rest .
Sorry for all of the photos this time... I get carried away sometimes. :)
Thank you to all who sent well wishes while I was ill. It is so good to feel good again :)

T Stands for Tuesday

It's Tuesday again...
A week that lasted much longer than many this year.
We are all still reeling from the attacks in Paris last week. Words can not express the grief of the world.
I altered one of my older journal pages to express the sadness that America feels right now.
All of the new meds seem to be working for me and each day I feel better and have more energy. Today I even ventured out to do a small bit of Christmas shopping. One store and I was done for the day . LOL!
It was very wet and cold today. I think our warmer days are going to be few and far between from now on.
The algae has come back on the split rail fence at the end of the driveway.
I love looking at all of the intricate patterns it has.

The ornamental grass looks best in the fall when it develops it seed heads. I leave it all winter and then cut it back in early spring for the new season.
Here's my drink today ..my one and only cup of coffee. The little birds in the background are waiting for a new coat of paint before they go on one of the bathrooms walls.

Paint Party Friday & Art Journal Journey

How can it be Friday already?
I'm sure I just did my last PPF post a day or two ago at most. :(
Since I don't know where the time went there is not much work to show you at all.
So today I quickly added some words to a journal page I had done a while back .
I don't think it's done yet... The area that looks pink was supposed to be a light orange but didn't turn out that way but is more peach than the photo shows. I'll play with it some more.
My energy levels are very slowly returning.  And I actually felt like drawing last night while I watched TV. So here's a new face sketch in my "Faces" journal. She will definitely get painted soon.
As usual the scan doesn't show the details well. I tried another scan  with some contrast adjustments....
...not much  better...I tried. I have some ideas on how I want to paint her but will wait until I'm a bit more energized.
The third round of antibiotics seem to be wiping out the infection finally but my blood worked one Monday shows my thyroid levels have bottomed out. (explains the lack of energy) so they have increased the dosage of thyroid meds and will probably increase it again but don't want to do it all at once. Could also be why I wasn't able to fight off the infections better.
Health  is always a mystery here.
The nights are getting colder here and the frost heavier. Most of the plants have bit the dust for the year but we still have a couple of hearty souls that haven't given up yet :)

I'm sure there are still herbs hanging in there but I haven't made it out there to check them out.

Paint Party Friday--Art Journal Journey and many others

After many mornings of thick dense fog that chills to the bones we finally had a sunrise...of sorts and then the rains came. And so is the weather of fall.
This weeks art is a combination of many challenges that I have fallen way behind in and will never catch up on.
It started with left over paints smudged and swirled on blank pages..
As I was filling in some of the white spaces with tea and coffee for the
Falling in love with Journaling Fall challenge # 9 . I realized I had the colors of fall for the Art Journal Journey challenge for November.

I also have dreams and emotions for documented life that came to life with the doodling ....

the monster of anger and jealousy on the left with the magical forest on the right. It was a fun spread to doodle as I watched a couple of TV shows.
The garden is almost all covered up with cardboard and black plastic ....hoping to get rid of a invasive ground cover that is trying to take it over.
Even though the mornings have been wet and chilly the afternoons have been warm and a couple of the day lilies have given a last effort of bloom. :)
