Paint Party Friday!!!

I made it!!!
Two weeks in a row....just under the wire ...but I'm here again :0)
With all of the sickness going on around here I didn't think I would make it at all.
This is a mixed media with a water color background and acrylics paints.
I'm calling her
 "FEVERED"
Which is what we all are here.
Hope all of you stay healthy!

Paint Party Friday Dec 21, 2012

SURPRISE!!!!
I know I've been absent and  THANKS  to those who have checked up on me.  Nice to know your missed ♥
It's just been an absolutely crazy fall for me.
Some good and some not very good at all.
I've been trying to juggle it all and stay somewhat sane in the process.
Creatively I've been a crazy crocheting machine this fall.
I FINISHED !!!... my 50 hats for charity challenge :0) and they have all been delivered.
After that I started on family and friends projects to keep everyone warm this winter.
I've made hats and scarfs, cowls and slippers, mittens and shawls.
Warm and fuzzy  ♥
I have only done one painting project and it was a big one :0)
Monday when I got to work they asked me if I would paint a doll house for charity.
A special gift so some lucky little girl could have a magical Christmas.
So in 3 days this is what I accomplished...

I would have loved to have done more...but they did wait 'til the last minute to decide to do this.
I think in January I will try to find another one and really deck it out for next year :0)
Wishing you all and very
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Paint Party Friday Nov 9, 2012

Fall Winds
Acrylics on a
8 X 8 inch Gallery wrapped canvas.
So many creative ideas swirling around in my head...and so little time to get bring them into reality. Feeling the frustration. It happens to me every year at this time. I'm beginning to think I need to take the whole month of November off from work so I can really do the things I love :0)
Wouldn't it be nice!!!!!

Paint Party Friday

Yikes!!! I forgot it was Friday :0(
It's been one of those days where everything has been super crazy and irritating and I completely lost track of the day and time.
This weeks art is the finalized "WIP" that went on the whole month of Oct.
This was how it started out.....

Then the Eagle appeared demanding to be painted...

Then the background was filled in and the tree trunk more defined...

Finally the scribbled  limbs  were added and I'm calling her done.

Things are finally winding down with the front of the house make over!!
The patio is finished and we have one more weekends worth of landscaping to get done and it's over for this year :0)

Paint Party Friday

Ah yes and fun filled PPF!
Things have been good here this week and catching up things from when I was sick. So today's painting is another "2fer" .
The first one is one I started for the first

"Fall Fearless and Fly"
Challenge. Which is now a week late :o(

The second is more on the WIP  from 2 weeks ago. Still not so happy where it's at but we have a ways to go before it's finished so hopefully it will come out ok in the wash.

Paint Party Friday

Slipping in at the last minute again here :0) You can always count on me being late.
Haven't done much painting again this week...started off great and then came down with a nasty bug and didn't get it finished. So here is my WIP on the second intuitive painting.
When i showed the start last week I thought I was seeing a persons face....and then when I went to start painting on Monday this Eagle was literally screaming at me so I made him visible.

Not sure exactly I'm going with the rest of it...guess I'll figure that out when my head clears up.
I did add one more little touch to last weeks painting and now she really is done.
I went into the woods foraging for nature "stuff" to use and came across these seed pods. When we were kids we called them "Silver Dollar" plants and collected them like they were real cash. I used one of them to make her wings... I sprayed it with yellow ink  and then cut it in half and gave her  semi-transparent wings. I love her now.

Paint Party Friday

After being in a "Creative Funk" for a few weeks now I thought I would give the intuitive painting another shot to see if it would wake me up.
I open three cheep canvas boards...don't want to waste anything good in case it didn't work :0)
I starting layering paint  and inks and then sat back and waited.... and waited... and waited.

Ahhhh! Finally I started seeing shapes so I outlined them with a pastel pencil.
I decided to work on the first one where I saw a prominent face.
Once I had the face painted in I started seeing the neck and shoulders and the hair.
Here's the final product..which makes me wish I had use a decent canvas..oh well at least I finished a painting . Finally!!

Saying Goodbye to 29 Faces :0(

It's been an absolutely crazy week here! It started with the crazy apple harvest and 3 days of cleaning and  cooking apples into applesauce and pie filling.
Work got all weird and my schedule got completely changed and not in a good way at all. I started feeling really tired and stressed out and had to make some decisions about letting some things go for awhile at least until I get myself built back up a bit.
So I won't be trying to complete the 29 Faces in September challenge and I won't be pushing myself to get an unreasonable number of crocheted hats done by the end of Oct. It was very hard for me to let go of these things because I love doing them so much. I just don't have the strength and energy to do it all right now.
So here is probably my last entry for 29 Faces in Sept. I will be checking out everyone else's faces so I'm not going away :0)
She's a work in progress :0)

29 Faces in September Face 9

While getting ready for bed last night  I had a Light Bulb moment :0)
I had recently splashed bleach on one of my favorite work shirts and had kept it to some day paint something on it.
Cotton Candy Girls to the rescue!!!!!!!!
They are perfect for painting on a shirt...so I dashed back into the  ART & GUN room...
(hubs and I share a spare bedroom for our hobbies) and drew her out on the shirt. I then gave her a coat of primer and at that point forced myself to go to bed. It was way after midnight.
I jumped out of bed bright and early this morning and finished her up. Now I'm hoping she dries enough to wear to work today.... just like a kid...can't wait to wear something new...even when it's something old :0)

29 Faces in September - Faces 5 and 6

While Straightening up my art desk this morning I found a note to myself..."Do Natasha's Cotton Candy Girls classes!" Another online class I signed up for..paid for and downloaded all of the info...and then proceeded to get busy with summer stuff and totally forgot about it. Well I did do the first class... but heck if I can find it! Probably went home with one of the Grand-kiddos :0)
So today I did the next two girls ... Natasha May these are just totally adorable and I'm so glad I found my note :0)

Both of these are painted on 6 x 6 x 1 inch square piece of oak wood. More free scrap lumber ;0)

A painting I did for my daughter for her birthday.

Paint Party Friday and 29 Faces in Sept

I started a whole different piece this morning for PPF...but it just wasn't happening :0( I couldn't concentrate....couldn't draw and just out and out wasn't in the mood for it.
So I decided to work on backgrounds for my journal to see what happened there.
Things went more smoothly there :0)
After doing several pages I decided I wanted to work on this one.

I had glued a map of our town and surrounding areas to the page and then colored over it with soft pastels and matte gel medium.
Then I painted a face in it...no hair or body...just a face floating in the color.
Kind of how I've been feeling the past week....
I let it set for several hours and came back to it. I decided it wanted feathers for hair :0)
I have a nice collection of feathers I've collected while working and playing in the yard...No way was I using any of those....so I arranged several of them on my scanner and then printed them. I tore them off the paper and then glued them down with more gel medium.
All in all I like it and now that it's done and posted maybe I'll get out of my "fibro funk"  and feel better.

Maybe if I spent less time drinking wine through a Twizzler  at concerts....

... and more time concentrating on my art..I wouldn't get in these 'fibro funks'
But the concert and time with my daughter was worth it !!! :0)

Paint Party Friday

Ok......So I finished the art early this week and here I am late posting it. I sure wish I had a way to organize my brain!
Now to the once again late ART :0)

These are little tags I have made out of recycled laminate samples.
When they changed out the laminate samples at work last year I brought a semi-small rubbermade tub of them home. Saving them from the dumpster. I had no idea what I was going to do with them but I knew I would come up with something.
Here is what the other side of these look like

They will make adorable key chains or gift tags, book markers, even a necklace if you got creative.
I'm playing with printing my art info and email  and gluing it to the backside.
Nothing firm yet but they are fun to make :0)
they are only about 1 and a half inches by 2 inches.
