29 Faces Day 29

Day 29

It's over and I survived and actually kept up!!!! This has been so much fun and I have really learned so much by doing this.
I have met some really cool and talented people and that is amazing.
This painting is acrylics on mixed media paper. It's a painting of my mother-in-law. She passes away a year ago and this is from one of my favorite photographs of her.
A gift from me to my husband.

29 Faces in February
Day 28

Feeling a little silly and whimsical today so this is the face that came out of that :0)
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that this challenge is ending ...or that we are still having spring like days here and I'm just feeling good.
This is another blank note card ....I'll cards when I need them now :0) ... I used Prisma Colored Pencils again and water color paper.
Wonder what tomorrow will bring?

29 Faces

29 Faces in February
Face 26

Another Mixed Media note card
I started with a blank card and a face torn out of a magazine. I rubbed away most of the face with citra solve leaving just a faint outline . Then I drew the face back in and painted it with acrylics. I  wasn't happy with how the face came out so I collaged a piece of printed tissue paper over it.  The musical notes on the tissue paper  gave it a softer look. I had smudged the top section of the card while gluing :0( .This card seems to be becoming a comedy of errors it seems. So I drug out some dried flowers from my garden and glued them down along with some collected feathers and an old bottle cap I found years ago.
So you might say the card fixed itself by becoming either a get well card or just a thinking of you "Cheer up" card.
The scan is not very good because the bottle cap prevents a good level scan. I may try a photo later and I get a good one I'll add it.

29 Faces Day 25

29 Faces in February
Well February is almost over and we only have 4 more faces to go. I think I'm going to miss this challenge. I know I can tell myself to continue to draw faces every day or at least every week . But I know myself and with out the challenge I will slack. But I know I will be doing some sort of art so that's ok.
Be sure to check out the other great faces...

29 Faces in February

29 Faces Day 24
Meet "Sunshine"
How could you not love that face?

I've loved this photo every since I saw it posted on a friends blog.
A friend I've never met in person and only know from her passionate blog about her small farm in Missouri and her wonderful family. A friend who was always there with a supportive comment when I needed one.
So when I decided to participate in this challenge I knew that "Sunshine" would be one of my faces.
The drawing is done on a 5x7 inch watercolor note card with Prisma colored pencils.  The original is in the mail to that small farm in Missouri.

29 Faces Day 23
This a 9" x 12"  Mixed Media Collage  done with book pages, texture medium and acrylic paints. It's kind of an expression of how I've felt the past few weeks as I have gone through some unpleasant anniversaries. Events that traumatically changed my life and me. I came out a winner because I refused to give up....but as these anniversaries rolled around I stumbled and felt insecure.   But that is the past now and I have a beautiful life with great prospects. I'm only human if  I feel small insecurities once in a while. I feel I have to honor those feeling and recognize them for what they are in order to continue on my positive road.
My anniversaries ahead are Good and Positive :0)

29 Faces

29 Faces in February
Here are faces 17 and 18 !
Still enjoying this challenge and building up my stock of note cards while I'm at it :0)
These are done on 5"x7" watercolor paper I have cut for blank note cards.
I'm not sure if I really am completely finished with this first one. I may add more details to the background :0)
This one is done is black gel pen.
The second one is done using Prisma colored pencils and Prisma markers. Just may add more to her background too. All depends on hoe well I keep up with the challenge. Time is a big factor right now. Work has gotten crazier and I'm having trouble keeping up and visiting all of the participating blogs. I will get there though!!!

29 Faces

It's day 12 !!!

This started out as a quick doodle face in my journal..... then I got carried away and all involved. I started it last night while watching TV and finished it tonight watching the Grammies.
I used watercolor pencils, Prisma Markers and Metallic watercolor paints.
I'm happy with her and think I just might call  her
"Thinking Elga"
maybe?

29 Faces and Paint Party Friday #48

Time is rapidly slipping away from me.... I was off work the first part of the week and it was easy to keep up. Now it's back to reality and is eating my time :0(
I finished the face for yesterday before going into work but it was too wet to scan and when I got home last night I was too pooped to write :0)
So here is yesterdays face and Paint Party Friday entry followed by todays face.
Sounds kind of weird when you say it that way :0)

Fridays is a 9 x 12 inch mixed media done on watercolor paper. Just a fun face done with my non-dominant had.

The second one is and acrylic painting done on a hardback book cover. It's approximately 4 1/2 inches by 5. NOT so pleased with this one...just may have to rework parts of it :0)

29 Faces

29 Faces in February
Whew! I can't believe I was able to catch up here...but here is face number 7.
I tried my luck with paint this time and it's really rough. Every time I tried to correct something I'd mess something else up. So I quit while I was ahead :0)
I can see improvement ... so that's what counts.

29 Faces
I've decided to jump in late for this challenge. I struggle with faces and could really use the practice. One of these days I'll have to take a class and learn what I'm doing wrong...maybe :0)
So here are my first six faces for Feb. and them I'm off to work on # 7.

The first 5 are just random pictures that I chose to try and draw the one below is my granddaughter and it actually looks like her!
