29 Faces Day 23
This a 9" x 12" Mixed Media Collage done with book pages, texture medium and acrylic paints. It's kind of an expression of how I've felt the past few weeks as I have gone through some unpleasant anniversaries. Events that traumatically changed my life and me. I came out a winner because I refused to give up....but as these anniversaries rolled around I stumbled and felt insecure. But that is the past now and I have a beautiful life with great prospects. I'm only human if I feel small insecurities once in a while. I feel I have to honor those feeling and recognize them for what they are in order to continue on my positive road.
My anniversaries ahead are Good and Positive :0)

ReplyDeleteCarol, your mixed media collage is fantastic! i love the unusual colors (the hint of purple in the eyes and lips). Your background is great too. Yeah, we all have insecurities somewhere. :-) Happy PPF! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI think your face is great! This is a challenge I should have joined. One of the best things about blogging is sharing our journey with others. Thank you for sharing yours.
ReplyDeletePS You mentioned that you would like to take a photography class one day. I highly recommend Kat Sloma's Journey of the Eye online series. You can find her at kateyestudio.blogspot.com
Another great face - love the purple tinges to her.
ReplyDeleteGlad your negative anniversaries are past.
(P.S. Did you know you have word verification on, Carol?)

ReplyDeleteYour face is great and I'm loving everyone's "show and tell" of their faces the past few weeks. Happy PPF!
I 'm very much in agreement with you Carol. Sometimes all we can do is accept things for what they are to continue on a brighter journey in life. Your face expresses well what you felt these past few weeks.....blue. lovely work.
ReplyDeleteAll the best, wishing you sunny days ahead.
Your determination to focus on the positive and not let the negative rule your life is a very good example for us all.
ReplyDeleteLove the new painting. The color palette and the textures are so soothing, and they make her face so interesting. Sort of the way all our life experiences make our own faces interesting.
