Pen & Ink

For some reason I love to draw Bees and sunflowers. I did one very similar to this for a  Christmas gift to my Son a & daughter-in-law. I decide I wanted one for myself too. The center of the flower is giving me fits right now but I'll get it worked out soon. Maybe I'll try to sell this one and do another for myself later.

Art Journal Page TWO

I have recently changed counselors and am so happy I did. This one has helped more in 3 sessions than the other one did in 8. One of the suggestion by the previous counselor was to journal my feelings... which only left me more angry and sad, etc. The new counselor said instead of a journal on how you were feeling bad why not try to express how you "WANT" to feel and what you need to do to get there. So was born the art journal. It's helping me to develop art skills and to express how I want to feel and the positive things in my life. I may not be able to change the things that have happened the past few months. But I can control how I react to them and how they change me in the future. So begins the healing of my broken heart.
Hubby and I have a long road to recovery but we both know that it's a road worth traveling.

AFTER THE STORM

Ever have one of those paintings that the more you work on it the worse it gets. This one is doing that for me. No matter what I try it just won't look right so I'm parking it for a while and playing with my fun and funky art journal I started. A fun little book to occupy my mind while I set on the couch watching TV.

This is the Beginning

New Years was not a happy time in my life but I was determined that I would at least try to start it out on the right track.  I grabbed  up my brushes and what few art paints I had and a big ole piece of  salvaged plywood saved from a packing crate at work.  Most of my paints were dried out and useless but I did have a big box of oops sample wall paints from Home Depot that I had been picking up for my daughters after school art classes.
I had done a lot of hiking in the fall and decided to do an impressionistic painting of the woods were I hiked.
This one has found a permanent home in my living room.
Since then I've created a few more items and have lots of ideas floating trough my brain.
I'll be working on furniture and home decor items and some funky paper mache pieces along with paintings here and there.
Since my other blog was originally about my gardens and photography I decided to start a new blog for some of my other passions. Who knows how many blogs I'll end up with.
