Paint Party Friday....

Today I joined the Fabulous Amy in one of her FREE on-line classes. We did portrait painting  on dried used teabags. It was a fun class and I got a whole passel of new information and techniques. Plus when the mailman came I got my free ATC she made a few says ago!!! It was my lucky Amy day!!!
Just wish it had been my lucky hair day :0(
I colored my hair today to hide those silver roots that are multiplying every day. I bout the same intense dark auburn I always buy....but when I took the towel off my head my hair was BLACK! Not just very dark brown ....BLACK!!!
I checked the box and it was right ...but when I looked at the bottle of tint it said BLACK :( so I checked the box again ..cause I knew the top was sealed when I opened it.... I didn't look at the bottom before using it. Someone had opened it and re-taped it .
Hubby says it looks good...I'm still adjusting.

So what do you think?

  1. Hair looks lovely as does the tea bag portrait! So did someone do that on purpose?! I suppose it is a bit funny - at least it wasn't red or blonde, that could have been a real mess! The eyes on your portrait are wonderful, I find it so difficult to work very small. Happy PPF!

  2. It looks good! You look good - pretty as a painting! But how annoying to get the wrong stuff in the first place! Love your tea bag painting, cute idea! Valerie

  4. Your hair looks good, Carol. If your hubby says it looks good, that's all that counts. Feel free to go out in public with pride. Your teabag art is an interesting exercise. You did very well at it. The colors are beautiful. BTW, When I clicked on your name it tried to go to: silverspring.blogspot, leaving out the acreslaborsoflove part. I found you, though. Thank goodness. I might never have known about the black hair if I hadn't. Faye

  5. Such a delicate medium to paint upon. Looks like you pulled it off quite well. Enjoy your new look too!

  6. What a great job you did on the tea bag! Your hair looks lovely. I never find that it looks like the box so my hair colour seems to vary regularly.

  7. the black hair looks cute! Don't stress it.

I really enjoyed Amy's class - I have a couple of teabags set aside for next time the desire to paint overwhelms the mornings sickness. Can't wait!

  8. Hi Carol,
Luv your hair and I too find that it never really turns out the same color as the box but this color looks good on you.
Luv your tea bag art, interesting concept. I think I would like to try it some time, still haven't tried the dryer sheets and I have a ton saved ; )

  9. Oh that Amy, she comes up with the most amazing things. Love the aqua background with your girl's red hair.

I've had those sorts of hair color shocks myself. Give it a few days and slap a coat of auburn on top of it.

  10. I have been seeing you visit so many blogs, I was curious about you and your garden. I then find you are an artist after scrolling down through your posts. I enjoy finding creative people on the web. Not looking for you to find me, just thought to 'meet' someone I see very often.
