It's Friday :)
Thanks again to Eva and Kristin!!! This group is amazing and so helps to keep me grounded in my art. Even when I don't post every week.
I've been trying to keep up this year....however...it just hasn't happened. One thing or another just keeps getting in my way. Life can be that way sometimes.
I have been doing small bits and pieces of art. Just never seem to manage to get anything completed. But I do have some things to share.
The first is one of the paintings I did for Summer of Color . One of the two that I did manage to get done. I don't even remember the week it was for.
Next is another set of pages in one if my art journals..
Neither of which are finished but I like where both are going so far.
From my last post on PPF here is where I am on the big wood painting..
I've added dried leaves from my yard and more gesso.... still not sure at all where this one is going at all. Today I have the urge to add dragon flies to it...so hopefully I will get that done before I dash off to physical therapy.
I have not done a thing with of the collage of my sister and I ...kinda stuck there.
The flower gardens are thriving...
In spite of the invasion of Japanese Beetles!
I managed to get away for a couple of days and visit with my daughter and her family.
Just one thought for today

I'm with you, sometimes it's hard to keep up! Life happens! Beautiful purple butterfly design! And holy cow, Japanese beetles. I remember those from growing up in New England. :)
ReplyDeleteSo nice to hear from you Carol! So fun to see your daughter and family. Glad you got away to spend some time with them. Oooo we have the Japanese Beetles right now all over the crepe myrtles and hibiscus. We are hitting them with Sevin. We need rain! Love the leaves on the board and YES to dragonflies... :)
ReplyDeleteThat's ok that you can't post every week, but it obviously hasn't stopped you from filling your life with lots of beautiful things- including your art.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a wonderful time away with family. Sometimes that's as important as art. I went back and read your previous post about the scrap lumber. Lucky, lucky YOU. It's already beautiful, and I look forward to the progress you make with it.
ReplyDeleteHope your weekend is superb, dear friend, and your blood pressure is now under control.
BTW, I am SO jealous of your gorgeous yard. Minus the beetles of course. Never saw them before, and luckily, we don't have them in KS.
ReplyDeletelovely photos! I like your wips very much and the garden is beautiful. Enjoy all that this wonderful season has to offer -there'll be plenty of time for more art once winter comes:)
ReplyDeleteLots of interesting work this week Carol! That SOC-painting is beautiful, and I like your journaligirls and the new painting on wood. Your daughter looks so much like you. Looks like you had a wonderful time :-)

Carol, I have decided to extend the time of my giveaway to Saturday night, since I don't think anyone comes to my blog during the week. Even if you don't get chosen for the books I can send you ATCs.
