Greetings !
Not a lot of art happening around here these days. It's Spring Garden time and that's where I've been the past couple of weeks.
I have been working on a canvas... just little bits of time here and there . Eventually it will be finished but as close as it is it will still probably take me a week or more.
It started like this ..
... then we starting going places with it....
...got this far and it sat for days.....
Then I finally got inspired and went this direction with it....
Was feeling like the images are lost in the background so I tried outlining them in white....
They do show up better but still feel it needs something else... the border needs something maybe. Thinking on it but this is where it's at today.
But the gardens are calling so I'm thinking there won't be much painting done today.
Today's Random Thoughts
So now it's time to Pop on over and see what all Eva & Kristin are up to at
♥
Your painting is coming along well, love the butterfly and caterpillar. Enjoy the garden time, but don't overdo things! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteVery expressive colours, happy paint party Friday!

That's a beautiful tribute to spring and the emerging of butterflies. Yes, the white is definitely the way to go. In fact when you get a moment from gardening, see if making the white outline a little more distinct will make the butterfly pop out more. I loved all the quotes you used this week. Several spoke loudly to me.
ReplyDeleteomg I love seeing the creation of your background!! Which paint did you use? I have to learn to let things dry before I continue. It is looking great so far. I think Faye's suggestion is perfect. It would be a shame to cover up that background. But maybe you can cover it up a little bit outside of the frame. Love your quotes too!
ReplyDeleteYour random colors become miracles of beauty.
ReplyDeleteYour painting is so bright and expressive!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a fun piece to create. I would think it is nice to have a piece going and work on it as you have time or feel inspired.
ReplyDeleteLoving how this piece is evolving!! Leave it out where you can see it. If it needs something else you eventually know exactly what it is!! I'm always shocked when I find something I didn't see before! Must be a state of mind too!! Happy Gardening!!

Your artwork may be taking you awhile but it's beautiful already so I am looking forward to the day you say it is finished and see what more you do!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your progress, it's a lovely piece.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful work. Just you take your time; it seems to be working for you.
ReplyDeleteThe butterfly is perfect this spring Saturday morning. We had butterflies all over the yard yesterday! I had never heard of heliotrope and I bought some last week and planted it... the butterflies love it! Enjoy working in your gardens and if I don't get a chance I am wishing you a Happy Easter!
ReplyDeletethat is such a fab background on your canvas! I can see where your thoughts are with the caterpillar and butterfly. Happy PPF and happy gardening!
ReplyDeleteCarol this is beautiful. I am so impressed at how you started out then finished it. Just beautiful.
