It's FRIDAY and time to 

PARTY!!!!!

It was the last week of the big tomato harvest and cook downs. From here on out it will just a few here and there. :) I'm ready to be done with tomatoes for the year. 

It was a beautiful day here today... so much cooler and low humidity :) I did a walk about the place to see what has been happening while I was stuck in tomato land the last 2-3 weeks. 

Right out I spotted this and was not even ready for these yet ....

Earlier this summer one of our dead trees fell during on of the many storms we had this year... It has been dead for about 10 years so it was time. I had trained some Wisteria vines to climb up and around it though so it was still a beautiful tree, especially in the spring when the Wisteria was in bloom. 

Now the Wisteria is running all over the ground back there and DH is complaining about it getting caught in the weed-wacker and lawn mower. 

So this is my temporary fix for it. 

There's still a ton of it running all over so I will have to work on that some more next week  :/ Maybe I'll have several arches . 

So now for the important stuff....

....the art :) 

She's finally done :) 

I'm happy with her and can't believe how long it took to get her done...but I did have a lot of interruptions. But now that the garden is winding down I'll have a whole lot more time to play with my art supplies again.

Paint Party Friday

Hello Friday Friends! 

Didn't think I was going to have anything done this week... seems that the garden has eaten up every bit of my free time and then some. I think I can officially say I am tired of tomatoes. 

Thankfully they have started slowing down now so I think I can handle the rest of the season. It was touch and go there about mid week . 

This was Mondays batch and I canned more on Tuesday and Wednesday. By that time I wasn't in the mood for photos of tomatoes LOL!  But I will be happy I have them later..

 Now the second crop of summer squash is starting to produce so I'll probably be whining about them next. :)  I really do love the whole process ...even when I'm feeling overwhelmed with produce. 

On Thursday I started working on the WIP again....

I got this far on Thursday and then before work this morning I worked some more and then a bit after supper. 

So this is where she is now...close but not finished yet. Still have to paint the feathers and then do some fine tuning here and there. It will probably be Monday or Tuesday before I get back to her. 

Once this crazy month is over I will be able to get back into a regular art routine again :)

Paint Party Friday & Art Journal Journey

It's Friday...

and another week is coming to an end. 

It's been a low activity week here as I woke up on Sunday with my back giving me fits...still have no idea what caused it. So I spent most of Sunday - Tuesday laying around with ice on it. Did get a couple of good books read so it wasn't a total loss. 

Wednesday I canned some more tomatoes and started this painting for a friend. 

Trying out new methods with texture for this one. It's nearly done. :) 

On Thursday there were more tomatoes  but I just didn't have the energy to can them so they were blanched and popped into freezer bags and frozen. Later when I have more energy and less pain I will take them out and cook them down to sauce. 

I also worked in my art journal a bit ...

... I had found an older face painting from 2012 when I had just starting figuring out how to do half way decent faces. This was painted on an old hardback book cover cut in half. I did that a lot when I was practicing because I didn't have enough money to buy a gazillion canvases to practice on. :) 

Painted the back background on the journal pages over time with left over paints from other paintings. I added a couple of reversed prints of clocks for the Art Journal Journey of "TIME" this month and added the words

" Time Changes Everything"
