Ok I know it's Saturday already :(
I work retail ..it's Christmas.
Need I say more?
Last week totally got away from me and I didn't get in here to post so this week is a showing of what I've done art wise in the past two weeks.
First I got out the Gelli Plate and here are some of the results.
Every flat space in the kitchen was cover with drying Gelli Prints :)
I've used a couple of them already...
This one is a 5"X7" blank note card.
Now I'm covering some mini composition books with them (and other things) for pocket journals.
I watched a free art video by Tamara Laporte this week. I signed up for her Lifebook series a couple of years ago and loved it. I've followed her every since but just can't haven't been able to do the Lifebook again YET.
She does a lot of Art Journal video's on Youtube
This card was made while watching the video...

Wow, you have been busy inspire of your busy work schedule. I like what you are doing with the gelli plate.
ReplyDeleteYou have created lovely art and great quotes today.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy Christmas time ♥
Hi Sweetie, love your composition books and gelli print art, just lovely. The face is beautiful, too. Have a great weekend, and get some rest! Hugs, Vaerie
ReplyDeletefabulous gelli prints Carol!! I am absolutely dying to get mine out again to play but it won't happen til I'm caught up with Christmas things. I can't imagine working in retail during any major holiday or sales event. You must have a ton of patience! I love Tamara's style and have watched some of her you tube vids and am taking her whimsy class online (which I haven't gotten to -yet). I don't have many Caran D' Ache water soluble crayons like shes uses but I may just go with acrylic paints instead.Your art journal page is gorgeous! Have a good rest of the weekend.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning, Carol. Hope you are getting rain too. I like the colors on your gelli art! The blank note card colors are soothing. I worked retail for most of my married life so, Yes, I know how you are feeling. I was surprised this year when on Friday we went to our Hobby Lobby and there were still plenty of Christmas trees for sale. CH hauled our old tree out to the trash last weekend when almost all the lights refused to behave. I wasn't even looking for a tree, looking for a couple of large gift bows but... there was this pretty 7 and a half foot tree. Just right for the four seasons porch. We were in your bit of country last Sunday and I almost talked myself into seeing if you were working and telling you "hi"... :)
ReplyDeleteLovely artwork Carol...I am late commenting, so glad you posted anyway!! Never enough time for all that the creative mind aspires to!! Much happiness to you!

A really lovely post. I laughed about your kitchen surfaces. That happens to me as well. Have a very nice day.
