Butterfly Effect ------Broken Pieces

I didn't get around to making anything new for this theme but I did want to share my Mosaic Pot with you.
I must first confess that I am a "Creative Supplies Hoarder!"  For years(12 or more at least ) I have been collecting broken pieces of ceramic and glass dishes, tiles, you name it .... I've saved it. Always with the intention of creating something. Five years ago I started this project and it got shoved aside as life got in my way.....in October while cleaning out the basement I unearthed it and decided it's day for completion had come!  I used the inner tub out of an old washing machine as the pot. So now I have a giant planter to set next to my fish pond :0) It will probably be the home of the Elephant Ear that you see in the last picture.
I still have tons of broken pieces and an old water heater tank that will become my next mosaic masterpiece :0) I'm picturing either a tower or a bench....
What do you think?

  1. :) I just recently threw out a lot of broken crockery that I had been saving. I accepted that I was not going to get there in the recent future! I love how big you are working...very bold. I see a bench. That would be cool.

  4. Do you have a fountain? I know it will be a work of art, no matter what you make.

  5. I love it! Funny I did a large mirror that I never grouted. It stayed that way for many years. While on a cleaning frenzy two years ago it was taken away... should have thought that out better!! Good for you finally getting it finished!! Happy ppf!

  14. WOW you pot looks fantastic. I would have never thought about using a washing machine tub. And the heater core sounds so unusual. I like the shape of the washer tub so much better that an ordinary pot. Great work. Thanks so much for sending me the link.
    Have a great week.
