Art Everyday Month---Day 9 / Butterfly Effect

Day 9 and I'm still managing to keep up! :0) !
Today it's my little Angel Kitty. An acrylic
painting on a wood slab. Another rescue piece of wood I brought home from work. The wood measures 5 1/2 in X 13 1/2 in. The color in the first photo are closer to true but the second shows the whole painting.
This is another 2fer post...

Art Everyday Month----Day 8

Don't Stop the Music

Yes one more of my phone book page faces....can you tell that these have become an addiction for me? :)
This one is on 12' X 12" paper and done with papers, acrylics, pastels and ink. The paper is more of that German music book the dog destroyed. So glad I saved all of those little scraps.
I'm still feeling wonky from this inner ear thing so I'm home again today. Which means I'll have more time to create :) but come payday I probably won't be so happy :0( Maybe I"ll work on something besides a phone book page today .

Art Everyday Month---Day 7

Meet my granddaughter Emma! She's a very bright girl and just received a
"Radical Reader"
award at school.
She takes after her grandma :)

So of course I had to make a special card for her. I'll be the first to admit that I don't do realistic faces well at all. But I keep on trying and eventually I'll get them right or at least closer.

So I started the card with this little drawing of her with colored pencils. I think it looks like an older version of her...but at least it looks like her :)

....and here is the completed card. The red and blue are done in glitter paint....cause she loves glitter. But it didn't photograph well.
Now I have to pop it into an envelope and run it up to the post office. :)

Art Every Day Month----Day 6

Another Phone Book page Face

I have a huge stack of these faces that I started and haven't gotten around to finishing so now is the perfect time to get them done.
It's anther mixed media using oil pastels, acrylics, hard pastels inks. Oh and we mustn't forget the start of it all the phone book page. It's done on 3" X 12" watercolor paper.
I'm running out of space in my studio to put all of these new paintings so I'm thinking of opening a Etsy shop...anyone have feedback on that...is it worth the effort etc. ?

Art Everyday Month --- Day 5

Decided to whip put another eye drawing for todays entry. It's a 5"X 7" card on Bristol Vellum with Prisma colored pencil and ink.
I used to draw these crazy eyes all the time and it's been fun doing them again and I always like having cards around for any occasion that pops up .
Now I have to force myself to pay some much needed attention this this grossly neglected house. It moans at me when I walk in the door....."clean me! clean me!"  When will they build self cleaning houses?

Paint Party Friday....Butterfly Effect ...and Art Every Day Month

Wow, three links for one painting ! How's that for time management? :)
When Butterfly Effect announced that this weeks theme  would be art and music I instantly knew what I wanted to do.
Some background info.....a couple of years ago I bought a beautiful antique music book. It was written in German and had a stunning red leather cover with real Gold Leaf printing on it. I couldn't read a word of it , but it was beautiful and I had to have. I brought it home and showed my husband and then placed it on the fireplace mantle. The next day while we were at work my husbands 6 month old Australian Sheppard puppy somehow managed to get the book off the mantle and totally destroyed the leather cover and a lot of the pages. I was livid!!! But the good side of the story is I have these beautiful music pages to use in my art. The dog is still not forgiven though!! Not for that or the several dozen shoes and boots he has chewed up before he finally got out of that horrible stage.
I used hard pastels, acrylics and glazes to create this one and I love it :)
 It's another 9" X 12" on canvas paper.

Art Everyday Month --- Day 3

Today I was lucky enough to finally catch one of  AMy McDonald's  live on-line art classes!!!  We painted cats...now AMy did one of her fanastic special cat painting and I decided to change mine up a bit to be more of my own....maybe I should have stayed with her cool AWESOME cat painting :(

I'm really not done with mine but somehow I don't think it's going to end up as cool as her's. But then she recorded the class so I can go back and do it all over again.
So now I'm headed back to the studio to see if I can still save this little critter from boring to something closer to fantastic.
