Wow, three links for one painting ! How's that for time management? :)
When Butterfly Effect announced that this weeks theme would be art and music I instantly knew what I wanted to do.
Some background info.....a couple of years ago I bought a beautiful antique music book. It was written in German and had a stunning red leather cover with real Gold Leaf printing on it. I couldn't read a word of it , but it was beautiful and I had to have. I brought it home and showed my husband and then placed it on the fireplace mantle. The next day while we were at work my husbands 6 month old Australian Sheppard puppy somehow managed to get the book off the mantle and totally destroyed the leather cover and a lot of the pages. I was livid!!! But the good side of the story is I have these beautiful music pages to use in my art. The dog is still not forgiven though!! Not for that or the several dozen shoes and boots he has chewed up before he finally got out of that horrible stage.
I used hard pastels, acrylics and glazes to create this one and I love it :)
It's another 9" X 12" on canvas paper.

and then....
and then last but not least...
Carol, this is fantastic. I LOVE the background. Please forgive the dog and be thankful that he has outgrown some of his bad habits. Some of us never reach that stage. LOL! Faye
ReplyDeleteCAROL ,,. I'm in love and am about to come in the dead of night a commit a thievery! I'm happy the dog chewed the book. This piece never could have seen the light of day had your beautiful book been in pristine condition on the mantle. Hope your dog is a guard dog. :o) Donna
