It's been a crazy week here and very little time for any art. I spent 3 days with my sister while her husband had cancer surgery.Very draining on us all but the prognosis is good at this point. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers for healing.
I started an on line art class this week and the first assignment was drawing faces with our non-dominant hand.
Here are 3 of my funny little faces that I will be painting with my non-dominant hand hopefully real soon. I really think I'm going to love this class and get a lot out of it !
well how very cool is this,,challenging using your other hand.
ReplyDeletethe third face looks so happy and cute!
ReplyDeleteThey have so much character!
ReplyDeleteThe first couple were throw aways for sure ...but it got easier as I went kept doing them. Now we'll see how the painting part goes.
ReplyDeleteLove your faces. Isn't this a fun class?
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the good prognosis. :)
ReplyDeleteFun faces!!

You know, I have thought a lot about trying to start working with my non-dominant hand. I am right-handed and my 2-year-old son is a lefty. I really want to experience doing things the way that he does (and will for the rest of his life). Did you find it difficult?
ReplyDeleteInteresting having to use the other hand to create. I like the third one best! Enjoy your online class and everywhere it takes you creatively. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteVery challenging using your other hand, isn't it? I once read a self improvement book about procrastination and one of the exercises was to answer in writing a list of questions, first with your regular hand, then with your other hand and see how the answers were different. often the non=dominent hand answers were closer to home and gave real insight into the reason for the problem.
ReplyDeleteWow! Great what you did with the assignment! ~ namaste, Carol (Share the Creative Journey) ^_^
ReplyDeleteLovely funny faces and it's amazing how the our non-dominant hand could bring out such wonderful images. Well Done!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for your BIL.
ReplyDeleteYour class sounds so interesting and creative. Love these little faces.
Love your characters...too fun! Sounds like a fun class! POP ART MINIS
ReplyDeleteCute faces and it sounds like a fun class! Best wishes and prayers for your BIL and family.
ReplyDeleteInteresting....I suppose I like the third face, very cute and happY...like your brother- in -law will be after receiving the good news on the prognosis. Take care and have fun in your art class.
ReplyDeletewhat a fun challenge. I hope you show us the painted versions as well!
ReplyDeleteGreat job using your non-dom hand! I'm sending prayers for your sis's hubby =) Kathryn
ReplyDeleteOh cool, and they all almost look as if they're done by a different artist...you have a lot of variation especially considering it's your wrong hand! Sending my positive energy to your family :)
ReplyDeleteOh my, you're a natural! Can hardly believe its your non dominant hand! Excellent and what a fun class! I will keep your sister's husband in my prayers. Deb
ReplyDeleteCarol, sorry I missed this last week, but I look forward to tomorrow and seeing what has happened throughout this week. You did surprisingly well with your non-dominant hand. What was the purpose of that exercise? I mean I draw pretty poorly with my dominant hand. But I write fairly well with my non-dominant one.
