29 Faces, Paint Party Friday & Butterfly Effect :0)

Just barely squeezing in under the line for 29 Faces in May :0) 

Ever since they have start the advertising for " Dark Shadow" I have wanted to paint  Johnny Depp as Barnabas. Since the theme for Butterfly effect this week is "Vampires" I just had to try painting Johnny. 

I didn't think I was going to have the energy to finish him due to my Fibromyalgia giving me problems this week....but I pushed myself to get it done so I can participate and finish the whole May challenge :0)

29 Faces in May faces 27 & 28

The last few days have been very hard for me....my fibromyalgia has kicked my butt to the ground and I have barely gotten these 2 faces done and probably won't be able to do face 29 before the month is over. 

All thing considered I'm very proud to have gotten tis many done. I knew going in that May was a busy month for me and that I usually end up down for the count before the month is over. 

I have enjoyed visiting all of the blogs I was able to get to through the month  even if I didn't have or take the time to comment. You are all talented and generous people.

Day 27 is a computer doodle sketch:

about all I had the energy for yesterday.

Day 28 is a graphite drawing I've been working on a little bit at a time for several days now.  I'm really pleased with the way it turned out.

I have another painting going but doubt that I'll be able to finish it today. Who knows...maybe I'll get a burst of energy later this evening :0)

29 Faces in May face 26

Not much energy here today so I just have a quick page in my journal. 

My daughter has been on my mind a lot today. She's off on another great adventure...this time under the African sun. She is in Kenya with a group from her university. As a mother I worry of course...but as a woman and artist I envy her the opportunity :0) I can't wait until she is home to share her stories and the hundreds of pictures I know she will be taking :0)

29 Faces in May days 24 & 25

Still running behind but not by far :0) 

Day 24 is an acrylic on  9 x 12 watercolor paper. 

So far I think she is my fav...at least for today.

Day 25 is a Mixed Media on 9 x 12 watercolor paper. 

it has some collage, texture , fabric ,acrylics and inks. It was a total play piece just to work with the texture medium . I used it on  the hair and on part of the background.

I spent hours playing with this one ...which is why I am still one day behind :0)

Playing catch here! We are in  the middle of a major landscaping project here and I've been too pooped to think of words to write when I finish my faces.

Almost forgot to post this today....we have been so busy with our landscaping projects this weekend. Both of us have taken this week off to tackle some major projects so the rest of the week will probably be just quick sketches. 

Todays art is one of my favorite paintings so far. I will probably be redoing the background a bit but I love the face.

I have totally caught up !!!! 

At least for today :0) 

Today I finished a WIP that I posted on day 5. So I sorta cheated a little bit..just a little though.

This is a 9 X 12 acrylic on watercolor paper. It's my Great Niece who has unknowingly been my model for several pieces. This one I am gifting to her this weekend. 

So I'll probably get behind again this weekend as I am going to see my parents and the rest of my family.

What a week!!! 

Work has exploded with business and we do not have the coverage to keep up. The boss is on vacation and has left me in charge and the department looks like a war zone :0( 

When I get home I barely have the energy to fix myself something to eat. 

Ice cream and cereal have been my mainstay this week :0) 

So here is my face # 15 for this month ...hopefully I'll catch up next week when I'm off :0) 

This was done with my new  Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils. I love them!!!

I just bought a basic set of 12...but also got a set of 12 Metallics for a penny! I do love a sale!!!!  Also managed to get an extra $5 off cause I'm addicted to art supplies and spend so much money at Michaels using my Michaels reward card :0)  

Who needs groceries when there are art supplies to be bought at such great prices?

29 Faces in May...Day 14

I knew it would happen....I'm falling behind again :0( 

Work is kicking my butt this week and I just come and crash.

So here is Day 14 which I started 2 days ago and really wanted to do more detail on...oh well maybe later. 

I did buy some new Inktense watercolor pencils that I want to play with soon. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

29 Faces in May day 13..Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day

to all of you that are mothers or caregivers!

My day has been quiet...phone calls from the kids and then shopping at the local garden centers. My traditional Mothers Day event :0) 

Todays face is a watercolor pencil painting.  I think I need to use these more so I get the hang of it...but I still like the painting.

29 Faces in May days 10 & 11

I think I have lost a day and a post this week :0(  I would swear that I posted Day 10 yesterday...but it is no where to be found ????

It's a 6 x 9 Graphite drawing .... I'm really loving my graphites this month.  

However last night they were not working for me at all and after many erasers I finally gave up and just played with the watercolor pencils. The results being....

Not really sure what I think of this one. One minute I look at it and want to throw it away and the next minute I like it in a funky sort of way. 

My day at work yesterday was very stressful so maybe that's why she looks like she does. 

Today was even more stressful and tonight we went a Ballet....so no face tonight... will have to play catch up again :0) 

The Ballet was very good. It was written by my son-in-law and the choreography was done by his daughter.  

It is a spoken word ballet about the effects of Alzheimer's  on a family. 

A tribute to his mother who lost her battle to the disease in 2009. A very moving tribute.
